The Guided Tour of Schwabing - Art Nouveau, Munich’s Bohemian Scene, and High Society Schwabing, known for its Art Nouveau architecture, Munich’s bohemian scene, and its high-society crowd, is one of the city’s most fascinating districts. Since its incorporation into Munich in 1890, it gained international recognition in the early 20th century. Famous artists and writers such as Thomas Mann and Ludwig Thoma gathered here, and legendary parties were held. Art Nouveau left a particularly strong mark on the neighborhood. Our guides take you on a journey back to the era of Munich’s bohemia, Art Nouveau, and the district’s more recent history—including the student movement, high society, the universities, and the nightlife.

Please note that if you've booked a guided walking tour of Munich-Schwabing, you cannot book a visit to the Anatomical Museum at Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich (led by Prof. Putz) at the same time.
